Beach Walk Goa

A ‘must’ for beach lovers everywhere, ‘Beach Walk Goa’ is a reasonably easy beach walking holiday taking in all of the popular beaches in North and South Goa. Starting with the peace and quiet of the North Goa sands you make your way through the busy resorts of Baga, Calangute and Candolim before arriving at the often deserted tropical beaches of South Goa. Here you may find yourself on long stretches of almost deserted beach with few others about except perhaps local fishermen. Fear not however, just around the next bend there could be waiting for you a typical Goan beach shack serving cold drinks and delicious hot food!

Although basically an ‘easy’ walk, this holiday can be tiring due to the heat of the tropical sun and sometimes walking on soft sand.

After a day walking under the Tropical Sun why not try one of Goa’s famous holistic Ayurveda relaxation massages?

A tropical beach all to yourself.

Itinerary:

The following itinerary is flexible to allow for high and low water tides where rivers have to be crossed.

Day 1: Arrive Goa and be met at the Airport and taken direct to accommodation at Querim in North Goa. Welcome pack available. Rep available at main accommodation centre. Evening Welcome Party at main accommodation centre – free transfers for other guests staying at alternative accommodations.

Day 2: Rep. available for a short time at each accommodation centre. Rest of the day at leisure. Optional trip by local taxi and ferry across the river to Tiracol Fort, the most northerly location in Goa. Overnight accommodation at the fort offering wonderful views of the following mornings walk can be arranged at an additional cost.

View from Tiracol Fort Hotel and boarding local ferry

Day 3: Depart after breakfast for the first part of your walk south. The relatively short first section will take us to the rocky outcrop at the end of Querim Beach which we round before arriving at the top of busy Arambol Beach. Here you can stop off and perhaps relax with a cold morning drink as you watch the area’s traditional hippy community come slowly to life.

After our morning break we continue our walk south as the beach becomes quieter, more peaceful and often even deserted. Our overnight stay around Mandrim will depend on tide time for the following day’s river crossing, however, where ever we stay, you will awaken in a truly’ tropical paradise’.

Overnight at accommodation in local Beach Huts

Day 4: After breakfast we continue our beach walk south to Morjim (Turtle) Beach where in addition to a handful of small local shacks, we find a popular nesting site for the endangered Olive Ridley Turtles. Following a brief visit to the nesting site (seasonal) and a refreshment break, we transfer by road to Vagator Beach then again by road to Anjuna Beach for our overnight in local accommodation.

Day 5: After breakfast, we continue our walk to Sinquerim Beach. (Approx 7.5 K) where our progress is stopped by the impressive Aguada Fort which stands atop a rocky outpost.

The stretch from Baga to Sinquerim is the most popular beach destination for ‘Sun Worshipers’ arriving in
Goa from the west on charter flights. Here you will find beach shacks and sun beds almost the entire length of the beach. Goa’s policy however not to allow new buildings close to the beach ensures you still can find the peace and charm of a tropical beach bordered mainly by Palm Trees on one side and the blue of the Arabian Sea on the other.
